Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Lip Waxing.

Most clients experience brief, manageable discomfort that subsides quickly. Our technicians use skin-soothing techniques, warm wax and fast removal to minimize pain. Topical numbing creams can be used on request, and aftercare reduces sensitivity for an easier experience next time.

Results generally last three to six weeks depending on individual hair growth cycles. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and make hairs finer. Timing varies by hormone levels, seasonal changes and personal metabolism; follow-up appointments can be scheduled for consistent maintenance.

Ingrown hairs can occur but are uncommon with proper technique. Prevent them by exfoliating gently before and after waxing, keeping the area clean, and avoiding heavy creams immediately afterward. If ingrowns develop, we recommend professional extraction and topical treatments to reduce inflammation.

Ensure the hair is at least a quarter inch long for effective removal; avoid retinoids or harsh chemical exfoliants for 3-5 days prior. Arrive with a clean, makeup-free upper lip and inform us about any medications or recent skin treatments.

Waxing is generally safe during pregnancy, but hormonal sensitivity may increase discomfort and skin reactions. Consult your healthcare provider if concerned. For sensitive skin, we perform a patch test, use gentle products and adjust technique to reduce irritation and ensure safety.

Apply a cool compress and a light, fragrance-free soothing gel or aloe for 24-48 hours. Avoid sun exposure, saunas, heavy makeup and exfoliation for 24-48 hours. Keep the area clean and moisturized to promote healing and minimize irritation.
